Iz Fez alive in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3?
It is confirmed at the beginning of the season that Fezco (the late Angus Cloud) is alive within the Euphoria in-world universe. He has been incarcerated after the events of the Season 2 finale.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet for the Season 3 premiere, creator Sam Levinson said that in the season, characters are “talking to him on the phone.”
He explained, “There’s a lot of scenes where people are talking to him on the phone. I thought if I couldn’t keep him alive in life, then maybe within this show that I can control I could keep him alive there.” Levinson went on to say, “I can’t wait for you to see the last few episodes because I think he would be cracking up at his storyline. I think he would love it.”
It is officially unknown if his death will be written into the show later in the season, but based on what Levinson has said, it appears that it likely won’t be.
Why Fezco was initially going to be a big part of the season
Levinson also told The New York Times in an interview that Fezco was initially intended to be the “backbone” of the season in an effort to keep Cloud clean.
“Angus was the backbone of that season,” he said. “I used to even talk to him about it because I wanted him to stay clean. So I would invite him over and I’d tell him what the plans were for the character. I’d say, look, he’s been in prison for a few years, so you’ve got to get that yoked prison body. Because I wanted him to start working out and taking care of himself.”
