Women’s basketball national champion Lauren Betts isn’t ruling out another turn on a major stage—this time, one far removed from basketball.

Following her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10, the UCLA star spoke at a Raising Cane’s press conference before their “shift” about the possibility of continuing her run in entertainment, reacting enthusiastically to the idea of joining Dancing With the Stars following her notable dance videos.

“Yes. Oh my gosh,” Betts said. “I’m glad you said that so that people know. Yes, I would love to do Dancing With the Stars. I feel like that would be so cool.”

Betts added that she wouldn’t want to take on the experience alone, pointing to the bond she shares with her teammates.

“If they could take all three of us, I feel like we’re a package deal at this point,” she said. “You have to take all three. But that would be awesome.”

Betts also addressed a recent shoutout from pop star Tate McRae, saying she’d be open to any opportunity to work with her.

“Yes, please,” Betts said. “We will gladly perform in the background. I don’t even need to be on camera. I just want to be in her presence. She’s amazing.”

UCLA stars reflect on young fans and viral moments

As attention around the team increases, UCLA guard Kiki Rice spoke about interactions with younger fans and what those moments mean to the players.

“I feel like those are always the most special moments, when we have our little young fans come up to us after the games and want autographs, pictures,” Rice said. “And they’ll write us notes, give us cookies, cards. It’s honestly so cute.”

Rice said those experiences reinforce why the team competes and the role they hope to play for younger athletes.

“That’s why we do this, that’s why we compete so hard. That’s why we play basketball. We want to be role models. We want to inspire them,” she said. “And I feel like we just tell any young girl that came up to us, be confident, have fun, enjoy playing basketball, and make memories with your lifelong friends.”

Betts also addressed a recent viral moment from a Lakers game, where she reacted to seeing LeBron James.

“Well, first off, he wasn’t on the court when we were watching the beginning of the game,” Betts said. “So that was my genuine reaction to seeing him for the first time. And then to know that he was looking at us and waving at us and saying congrats, I think anybody who would be in LeBron’s aura that close would have the same reaction.”
