This year, Pratt was nominated for an Outstanding Character Voice Performance  NAACP Image Award for her role in the television series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Pratt is known for being one of the sitcom’s original cast members when the show aired in 2001. She is also known for appearing as a child actor in iconic movies like Love & Basketball and the beloved TV series One on One. Pratt also recently starred as Randi in the comedy series Call Me Kat.

How many children does Kyla Pratt have?

Pratt shares two children with her longtime partner, Danny Kilpatrick, whom she met in 2008, according to Essence. Lyric was born in 2010, while Liyah was born in 2013.

Pratt has shared snapshots of her family life on social media in the past. In 2023, she attended the premiere of The Little Mermaid with her children. She has also shared videos on TikTok and Instagram of time spent with Lyric and Liyah.

“Having children has helped me learn how to balance my personal life and business,” Pratt told Essence in a 2025 interview. “My kids will only be kids for a certain amount of time, and I cherish every moment I have with them. Even if I find myself overwhelmed and having a moment, I think, this is only for a second. In a little bit you’re going to laugh about this. I want to enjoy this journey and not take it for granted.”
